Educational program
The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science at Sharif University of Technology admits students to the master's degree program through a national examination. The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science admits students to nine different specializations at the master's degree level through a national examination. Master's degree courses in this faculty are offered in two forms: teaching-based (without a master's thesis) and teaching-research-based (with a master's thesis). The duration of the master's degree program in this faculty is 2 years, and in order to succeed in this course, the student must successfully complete the units related to his/her major (according to the curriculum) during this period. The nine master's degree programs listed are: materials extraction, biomaterials, machining, welding, casting, ceramics, metal forming, material identification and selection, and nanomaterials. After being accepted into this course, the student must select a supervisor as soon as possible and submit the forms related to the appointment of a supervisor and the initial definition of his/her master's thesis to the faculty's Graduate Studies Office at the time specified (approximately mid-first semester). After being admitted to the faculty, students are advised to carefully study the educational and research regulations and rules related to their course so that they do not encounter problems during their studies due to lack of knowledge of the rules.
