General English


General English is a 3-credit mandatory course which is proposed in the list of general courses of the Ministry of Science Research and Technology of Iran for BSc programmes. All undergraduate students in Iran must pass this course in order to graduate.
Course Objective: The student will be able to read and comprehend a range of academic texts and use a range of words to be used in an academic context.

Oral Communication


Oral Communication in English is a 2-credit course offered to all undergraduate students studying at SUTIC. This mandatory course prepares the BSc students for their academic encounters at the university context and they will be familiarized with techniques of effective presentation.
Course objectives: students will be able to converse effectively in English and improve their speaking skills.

Technical Writing

 
Technical Writing as a 2-credit mandatory course for all undergraduate students offered by SUTIC’s language centre for all BSc programmes. A crucial skill, writing is considered to be the most difficult to acquire and during the course of their studies the university students are required to submit a range of essays as their course projects, SUTIC Language Centre  provides the Technical Writing in English to improve the students writing ability in English. 

Course Objective: students will be able to recognise and write different types of essays necessary for the university context.

KISH 1 & 2

English Compensation Courses
In order for students to join the programmes at Sharif University of Technology International Campus, they must meet the English language entry requirement of 5.5 overall band score of IELTS or 69 TOEFL IBT score. The two six-credit compensation English courses are designed for those students who do not meet the entry requirement but have been assessed as being eligible to study at SUTIC. KCEP (Kish Compensation English Proficiency) courses aim to prepare the students for their technical and specialised courses taught in English by recognised lecturers. 
These courses are mandatory for all MSc and BSc individuals admitted to SUTIC.
