Sharif's Homa Award for Civil Engineering

Sharif's Homa Award for Civil Engineering has been established to provide financial support and encourage the study and research of talented and creative students of the Department of Civil Engineering at Sharif University of Technology at all three levels: Bachelor’s (from the fifth semester onwards), Master’s, and PhD. This award is intended to be granted twice a year. The funding for this award comes from contributions of the department’s alumni or other public donations; the fund does not receive any government funding. The amount of the awards and the number of recipients will be determined each year based on the donations received. The executive committee of the Homa-ye Omran Sharif Fund consists of two faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering: Dr. Mohammadreza Sabouri (Fund Secretary) and Dr. Amirhossein Kermanshah.

Applicants for this award must submit the following documents to the Fund Secretary via email by the announced deadline:

• Sharif's Homa Award for Civil Engineering Application Form (available on the Department of Civil Engineering website)

• Academic transcript(s) – Students with strong academic records and excellent GPA(s) will receive higher scores

• One-page motivation letter explaining the applicant’s ideas or plans for continuing their studies and research, and the potential impact of receiving this award on their academic path

In addition to the above, applicants must nominate one Sharif University faculty member as a reference. The Fund Secretary will send an email to the nominated faculty member requesting a recommendation letter, which will remain confidential within the fund. After an initial review of applications, some applicants may be invited to an interview by the Fund’s Executive Committee.
