The First International Conference on Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainable Development (HSEM2020) with a focus on the tourism industry, aimed at identifying opportunities, challenges, and appropriate indicators for measuring and managing factors affecting sustainable development of the tourism industry in the country, was held online on 30 Ordibehesht 1400 (May 20, 2021) in collaboration between Kish International Campuses of Sharif University of Technology and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, with five main themes: HSE and tourist attractions, HSE and urban development, HSE and sustainable development, HSE and free zones, and HSE and corporate social responsibility.
The roadmap for achieving the sustainable development goals of the tourism industry in the country, with an emphasis on the relative and indigenous advantages of the country's tourist areas, is achieved through the development of national standards, their alignment and elevation to international standards through the scientific interaction of active researchers in various fields at national and international levels. During the conference, selected articles submitted to the conference secretariat were presented, and participants benefited from various scientific workshops
