Sharif University Professor Wins the 1405 Sobouti–Khajehpour National Scientific Award

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Rahban, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, has been selected as the recipient of the 1405 Sobouti–Khajehpour National Scientific Award in the field of Computer Science.

According to the Department of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, the 9th Sobouti–Khajehpour Scientific Award Ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Chemistry, Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), Zanjan.
As announced by the Award Board of Trustees, recipients were honored in three disciplines: Chemistry, Biological Sciences, and Computer Science. Dr. Rahban received the award in recognition of his outstanding research achievements in the fields of Machine Learning Safety, Trustworthy AI, and Anomaly Detection.
The Sobouti–Khajehpour Scientific Award was established to coincide with the anniversary of the founding of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) in Zanjan, honoring the scientific and educational contributions of two of the university's founding professors, Professor Yousef Sobouti and Professor Mohammad Reza Khajehpour. Presented periodically, the award recognizes young Iranian researchers and scientists for outstanding achievements in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Computer Science.
