The visit of the vice-chancellor of UITM to Sharif
Prof. Sahol Hamid, the vice-chancellor of Mara University of Technology (UITM) accompanied by Dr. Ahmad Akbari, the President of Sistan and Baluchestan University visited Sharif University of Technology (SUT) and had a meeting with Dr. Roosta Azad, the President of SUT.
At first, the guests accompanied by Dr. Rasool Jalili, the Dean of the International and Scientific Cooperation of SUT, visited different parts of the University including two labs located in the Mechanical Engineering Department, and then they attended the office of the President of SUT, Dr. Roosta Azad.
After greeting the guests, Dr. Roosta Azad introduced SUT and then, he elaborated on the background of the scientific cooperation of Sharif University with Malaysian universities. Later, Prof. Hamid expressed his feeling of happiness attending SUT and then, he introduced Mara University of Technology. According to UITM Vice-Chancellor, his University having about 189000 students is considered to be the greatest higher education institute of Malaysia. He added that most of Mara University students would find a job less than six months after their graduation.
Later in the meeting, while discussing the status of higher education in Islamic countries, the heads of the two universities emphasized that Islamic teachings must be seriously considered in the administration of universities. In this regard, Dr. Roosta Azad, emphasizing the key role of family in Islam added that Sharif University of Technology would try to facilitate the conditions for the long-term progress of SUT students by simultaneously taking into consideration all three aspects of education, labor and marriage.
In the end, the two parties announced their interest to establish scientific cooperation. Moreover, Prof. Hamid invited Dr. Roosta Azad to visit Mara University of Technology.
